Apple: confirmed the first keynote of 2022

We had been waiting for an Apple keynote in March for a few weeks, and we even bet a few days ago on March 8, when we discussed what had been the latest speculations regarding the iPhone SE of the third generation, probably accompanied by some other release. And, remember, if the forecasts are correct, 2022 might be a particularly productive year in terms of the release of new Apple gadgets, and while most are expected in the autumn, others will not have to wait as long.

And now we can stop speculating and confirm it, because Apple's senior vice president of marketing, Greg Joswiak, tweeted, "Peek performance. The 8th of March. I'll see you there. #AppleEvent »This shows that we are not mistaken and that the first Apple keynote of 2022 will take place next Tuesday, March 8, just six days away. The time has not been specified, but based on previous events, we can expect it to occur about 1:00 p.m. PDT, 6:00 p.m. in the Canary Islands, and 7:00 p.m. in the Peninsula and Balearic Islands.

Obviously, as Cupertino always does, the suspense is kept up till the very end. The message's content, in addition to the event date, refers to a performance peak, which we can take as implying that, even though we don't know which gadgets will be displayed, they will be extremely powerful.

We could be looking at the comeback of the iMac Pro, which we thought Apple had ruled out, but which should be reformulating itself to return, yes, having already made the leap to Apple Silicon.

The second alternative is, of course, the long-awaited Mac Pro with Apple Silicon, which should arrive alongside the long-awaited evolutions of the existing Apple M1 Max, the Apple M1 Max Duo, and Quadro. There are few voices pointing to such an early launch, but we should not rule it out, and even that March will finally be the premiere month for both the Mac Pro and the iMac Pro. It makes a lot of sense as a movement, so we include it in the list of options, especially given the apocryphal content of Joswiak's tweet.

There is no doubt, or we would be extremely disappointed, that Apple will unveil the new iPhone SE on March 8, reducing the life cycle of its predecessor by half compared to the previous one, remembering that the first had a market validity of four years, while the one that is still on the market is around two years.

The big question now, aside from the models that Apple will finally present, is its price, and while the most conservative thing to expect is that it will remain at $399 for the second-generation model, some analysts have indicated that it could go down to $299, and Mark Gurman jumps in with a truly amazing prediction: from 199 dollars.
