Jagger, Richards and Wood paid tribute to the late Watts

The news of the death of The Rolling Stones member Charlie Watts shook the world music scene on TuesdayCharlie passed away at the age of eighty, and many claim that the retired drummer was the heart of the group.

Numerous celebrities have said goodbye to Watts on social media, including the Beatles  Ringo Starr and  Paul McCartney, Elton John,  Joan Jett and Roger Taylor. Many of them expressed their condolences to Watts' wife  Shirley,  82, daughter  Seraphini,  53, and granddaughter  Charlotte,  25.

Colleagues from the band also took to social media and paid tribute to Watts with emotional posts.

Legendary Stones singer  Mick Jagger, 78, shared the same photo of Charlie laughing next to his drums on Twitter and Instagram.

The band's founder and guitarist  Keith Richards  (77) posted a photo of the drums on Twitter with a sign that says 'Closed'.

Guitarist Ronnie Wood,  74, shared a photo of himself and Charlie and wrote:

- My fellow Gemini... I'll miss you, you're the best.
