The star of the James Bond movie: The next agent 007 should be a gay actor

Although the new James Bond movie "No Time to Die" only recently had its world premiere, there is already a lot of talk about who could replace actor Daniel Craig in the role of secret agent 007. Ben Whishaw, one of the stars of the new film, believes that the main role should be taken over by a gay actor.

In this film, Ben Whishaw plays Q for the third time, the head of the department in charge of producing technological innovations used by James Bond. He is a homosexual, and in an interview with Altitude magazine, he stated that he would like to see a member of the LGBT community in the role of a secret agent.

"God, can you imagine that? I mean, it would be quite an extraordinary thing. Of course I would like to see that. I really believe that we should be working towards a world where anyone can play anything and it would be really thrilling if it didn't matter about someone's sexuality to take on a role like this," said the actor.

"A lot has changed in the world in the last five or six years. We will see, maybe Bond will really be a gay actor one day", he concluded.

When asked who it could be, Whishaw gave the seal of approval to the actor from "Beauty and the Beast", Luke Evans and Jonathan Bailey from the series "Bridgerton".

The last James Bond film with Daniel Craig in the lead role finally had its world premiere in London, on September 28, 18 months later than planned, due to the coronavirus pandemic. "No Time To Die" is Craig's fifth Bond.

He told BBC 5 on the red carpet that this role was "incredibly important for cinema and history, and the burden of that was on my shoulders for a while".

"I was incredibly lucky," he added.

In addition, Craig said that even a year ago, he could not have imagined that the premiere would take place and that he now feels great relief at the Royal Albert Hall in London, where the premiere was held.
