Amy Winehouse ate nothing in 36 days before her death: Terrible details of the unfortunate artist's painful end revealed

The new book “27 Heaven” about the life of the late singer Amy Winehouse was written by Ian Halperin. He argues that a close friend of the singer said the singer "lived on booze and cigarettes," and did not eat proper meals 36 days before her death, according to The Sun.

Amy died of alcohol poisoning on July 23, 2011.

She was very skinny, she lived off booze and cigarettes,” the source said. The singer is known to have suffered from bulimia.

On June 18, Amy gave her last concert, which gave the impression that her end was near. There were 20,000 people on the open stage of Belgrade's Kalemegdan. It was her first big tour after a two-year break, and before that she was in a rehab clinic.

But nothing gave the impression of a great comeback. Managers literally pushed her onto the stage, and later witnesses said she cried backstage that she didn’t want to sing. The concert in Belgrade began with the sentence "Good evening, Athens". Amy staggered around the stage, and minutes of awful silence would ensue. She wasn't even aware of where she was.

Canceled the whole tour

When she finally let out a voice, a curse was heard, and she literally mumbled her hit “You know I’m no good”. She sat down by the stage, the backing vocals holding her up as she got up. The audience followed her every attempt to sing with loud applause, some were annoyed and whistled.

Fans sang for her, chanted her name, backing vocals sang and danced merrily as if they were at the best concert ever, and a broken Amy sank more and more. After an hour, they took her off the stage and put her in a car, and drove her to a hotel. She first canceled concerts in Athens and Istanbul, which were to take place the same week and then the entire tour.

Halperin claims they could have saved Amy.

“If they had concentrated a little more on her health instead of the money she was bringing, she would still be alive today,” a source close to the singer concluded for the new book.
