Bono Vox: I have a secret brother!
Bono Vox, the singer of the group "U2", revealed that he has a half-brother whose existence he did not know for decades.
As he stated, he found out about him only in 2000. “I have another brother, whom I love and adore, and for whom I didn't even know I had”- said the singer, who also has an older brother Norman. As he stated, his mother Iris, who passed away in 1974, did not know that her husband had a child with another woman.
“My father had a deep friendship with a beautiful woman. And then they had a child. And it was all kept secret“ - said the singer, and admitted that he talked to his father about it before he passed away: “I asked him if he loved my mother, and he answered in the affirmative. I asked him how it could have happened to him to have a child with another woman, and he said that such things happen, but also that he is trying to correct it. He did not apologize, he just stated the facts. And I live in peace with that today.”
As he further added, his mother died of a brain aneurysm when he was just 14 years old. That had a big impact on his family. “I immediately found another family - I founded U2” - he said. His relationship with his father is described as "complicated". “My father obviously went through a lot. He was unaware of what was really going on around him. There were many things that he had to deal with on his own” - the musician points out.

Bono, who will publish his autobiography later this year, became famous in the eighties and was soon proclaimed one of the greatest rock stars in the world. Apart from being a musician, he is also known as a human rights fighter.
By the way, Bono Vox stated that he is ashamed of many of the band's songs, as well as that he still doesn't like the name of the group. The band, founded by schoolmates from Dublin, has sold more than 150 million albums over a 40-year career. But in the Awards Chatter podcast, the singer said that, apart from the 2004 song ‘Vertigo’, it is difficult for him to listen to their music. He added that his voice in the previous recordings sounds "very tense".
