Britney Spears' controversial father Jamie has agreed to 'release' Britney, but is asking as much as $ 2 million for the move
The trial in Los Angeles is scheduled for the end of the month, and the lawyer of the former pop star claims that he will take the necessary legal steps against Jamie Spears if the singer's father continues with blackmail.
The father of former pop star Britney Spears (39), Jamie Spears (69) has formally resigned from the position of her guardian, but according to the singer's legal team, he is still blackmailing his daughter and wants to make her life miserable.
Jamie is reportedly trying to get two million dollars from her before stepping down from the position, and the singer's representatives claim that in the whole story, from the beginning, he is only interested in her money, and not his daughter's well-being.
In particular, Dad Spears has to pay lawyers and former business associates so he reckons Britney will agree to a ‘severance pay’ to speed up the whole process. Still, her attorney, Matthew Rosengart, doesn’t want to give in to Jamie’s demands.
- Britney Spears' father will not extort anything. He has no right to set any conditions and should have already withdrawn. It would be polite and correct to do so - said Rosengart resolutely, reports Reuters.
