Did Prince Charles always love only Camilla?

Even 25 years after her tragic death, the fate of Princess Diana continues to intrigue the public.

Her love life with Charles is well known to the public. There are also well-known stories that Prince Charles never loved any woman except Camilla, and that he ended up married to Diana because it suited the royal family.

Namely, Charles always believed that he would marry Camilla, and this is how their acquaintance began...

In mid-1971, Andrew Parker Bowles began dating Princess Anne, the younger sister of Prince Charles. A few months earlier, he broke up with Camilla Shand.

Camilla, a former student of French literature, moved in the same circles as her ex-boyfriend, and in which were Prince Charles and Princess Anne, son and daughter of Queen Elizabeth II. They met often at social events, but it was not until mid-1971 that Camilla formally met Charles, heir to the British throne.

Their biographers point out that the couple did not officially meet at a polo match, as it has been believed for decades, but that they were formally introduced to each other by their mutual friend Lucia Santa Cruz, at her home. Apparently, they quickly became close friends and started having fun, which was no secret in their circle.

It was never fully revealed and explained exactly how and when the love happened, but from the very beginning it was clear that "there is something there". That is why many were surprised by the reconciliation of Camilla and Andrew Parker Bowles and their engagement in 1973. It was speculated that the couple's parents sent the news of the engagement to The Times, after which Andrew had no choice but to actually marry Camilla.

This happened on July 4, 1973, with a Roman Catholic ceremony in London, and it was the social event of the year because it gathered a large number of celebrities from Britain's highest circles, as well as members of the royal family. Among them were Princess Anne (yes, Andrew's ex-girlfriend!), The Queen’s Mother (the mother of Queen Elizabeth II) and the Queen's sister Princess Margaret.

In one of the letters sent by Prince Charles to Lord Mountbatten, the uncle of his father Prince Philip, at that time, the sad prince of a broken heart wrote:

"I guess the feeling of emptiness will pass one day."

It was an open secret that Camilla Parker's heart belonged only to Prince Charles, despite the fact that he also married Princess Diana in the meantime.

A recently released documentary revealed that the marriage of Charles and Diana has been on shaky ground since day one. Namely, what he did on his honeymoon destroyed their relationship forever.

It is said that Diana found a photo of Camilla among his belongings that he took on a romantic trip. An argument ensued, and although he tried to find a justification for this move, Diana never forgave him. However, she decided to stay with him...

The next disappointment came when Prince Harry was born.

As their marriage at the time of Harry's birth was largely on "shaky feet", it was believed that the newborn would save their relationship. However, Charles wanted a girl, and he was not happy that he had another son.

"He's a boy, and he even has red hair," Charles said when he saw another heir and went to play polo. Diana was broken by such behavior.

'Something in me died at that moment. Harry came to an already ruined marriage and everything just went downhill ', said Princess Diana on one occasion. Prince Charles was completely ruthless, so he approached Diana's mother on Harry's violation and did not hide that he was disappointed.

"We are very disappointed, we were hoping for a girl," said Charles, who today loves to play with his grandchildren.
