Discovery of Witches returns with season 3!

The season 3 premiere of Discovery of Witches is returning to HBO. Are you as excited as we are? Because we can't wait!

The third season of "Discovery of Witches" will premiere on January 7 on HBO, when the seven episodes will come on offer. The final chapter will air with two episodes a week until January 21 when in an evening we will be able to see three of them thus closing this mystery linked to the Manuscript, to the powers of Diana, and to her relationship with the beautiful vampire Matthew.

The new season is based on the novel "The Book of Life", the third and final part of Deborah Harkness's bestselling trilogy.

The brilliant historian Diana Bishop (Teresa Palmer) is a witch who denies her own legacy. But when she unexpectedly summons an ancient, vicious manuscript from Oxford's Bodleian Library, which the creatures thought was lost and could answer the mysteries of their existence, she finds herself thrust into the heart of a dangerous mystery — and into the path of enigmatic geneticist and vampire Matthew Clairmont (Matthew Goode).

In the final season of " Discovery of Witches," Matthew and Diana return from 1590 to the present and face tragedy that took place in Sept-Tours.

They must find the missing pages from the Book of Life and the Book itself before it is too late. Their enemies are about to go after them, and the monster from Matthew's past who waited in ambush will return for revenge.

Soon the revolution will be underway and at that point, not all the protagonists of the series will live on, who will have the final sacrifice?

The cast includes Matthew Goode, Teresa Palmer, Owen Teale, Malin Buska, Alex Kingston, Aiysha Hart, Edward Bluemel, Lindsay Duncan, Peter McDonald, Trevor Eve, Gregg Chillin, Adelle Leonce, Tanya Moodie, Daniel Ezra, Toby Regbo, Steven Cree, Jacob Ifan, Ivanno Jeremiah, Greg McHugh, Olivier Huband, Paul Rhys, and Parker Sawyers.

The show is produced by Edoardo Ferretti, directed by Jamie Donoughue and Debs Paterson, and the screenplay is written by Lisa Holdsworth, Helen Raynor, Michelle Gayle, Christopher Cornwell, and Matt Evans. Kara Manley is an executive producer for Sky Studios and the series is signed by Bad Wolf. Executive producers for Bad Wolf are Lachlan MacKinnon, Jane Tranter, Deborah Harkness, Lisa Holdsworth, Helen Raynor.

The two protagonists will be called upon to find the missing pages of the Book of Life and the book itself before it is too late as their enemies are joining forces and a monster linked to Matthew's past is waiting for the moment to take revenge.

The first two seasons were received very well, and have a score of 8.0 on IMDB. The audience was flabbergasted from the moment the first episode aired. You may wonder why is the show so popular, well we have a theory. Given the popularity of the vampire genre, ever since the Twilight franchise came out, we suppose that the popularity came with the feeling of nostalgia and excitement it brings to its viewers. And we, of course, can't leave out the Harry Potter fans who will certainly find plenty of things that they'll enjoy, given the beautiful showcase of magic on this show.
