Here's who was left without an Oscar nomination

After nominees for the 95th Oscars, and the most prestigious film award were announced, many people were startled that several well-known and expected names were not in the running for the statuette.

Specifically, the films Babylon and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever were left without nominations in the category of best film, while the names of Brad Pitt for his performance in Babylon, as well as Tom Cruise for his role in Top Gun: Maverick, could not be found in the category of best actor.

Hollywood darling Margot Robbie was also overlooked, and singer Taylor Swift was overlooked in the best soundtrack category for her song Carolina, which she performed for the film Swamp Girl.

Selena Gomez was also overlooked for her single My Mind & Me, which followed her documentary of the same name.

James Cameron was also left without a nomination

Although Avatar: The Way of Water garnered multiple nominations, including Best Picture, James Cameron was not nominated for directing.

Paul Dano was not nominated for his performance in The Fabelmans, while Danielle Deadwyler was not nominated for Till.

The Woman King, starring Viola Davis, and Jordan Peele's Nope, starring Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer, were both overlooked for Academy Awards.

Chaos in Hollywood because of Michelle Williams

Is Michelle Williams in a leading or supporting role?

The possible candidacy of Michelle Williams for best actress in Steven Spielberg's autobiographical film "The Fablemans" caused quite a stir in Hollywood. The actress plays the mother of the main character, however, she is not the major role.

With the help of the film studio behind this production, she was able to reach the position of main actress rather than supporting actress. This sparked a debate over whether moms' duties were undervalued in the leading categories. According to the rules, the Academy may nominate any actor in any category it thinks fits.
