Jimmy Savile: A British Horror Story

British presenter Jimmy Savile was one of the most famous television personalities in history, and he managed to hide his true face until his death. Popular BBC DJ and host of the popular show 'Top of the Pops' Jimmy Savile passed away in October 2011, after which more than 500 people claimed to be sexually abused by him.

Savile used his power and influence in show business and British society to lure his victims, and after his death, when his crimes came to light, an investigation was conducted on the BBC where he had worked for years.

He came into the spotlight again because of Netflix's true-crime documentary 'Jimmy Savile: A British Horror Story' which can be watched from this Wednesday. Jimmy Savile quickly gained popularity and became one of the favorite television personalities, and how much he was a favorite in British society and how influential is the fact that Queen Elizabeth declared him a knight in 1990.

His work for charity has also contributed to this, and it is estimated that he has raised around £ 40 million for various humanitarian purposes during his lifetime. Because of his humanitarian work (which he later turned out to have also used for other purposes), he also connected with some members of the royal family, the most prominent of whom were Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

It is the two of them who will appear as supporting characters in the feature drama ‘Reckoning’ which is due out this year, in which Savile will be played by Steve Coogan. This news, according to the British media, made Prince William quite angry, who, of course, is not happy that his parents are mentioned in this context.

'Prince William would rather not see his mother with such a monster, and he is particularly unhappy that it will be in a BBC drama,' said a source from the palace.

'Although Diana was one of the important people that Savile flattered, there are many others who had a greater impact in getting him access to young people and hiding from everyone's eyes,' he added.

The two-part Netflix documentary mini-series will address Savile’s public relations and seek an answer to the question of how he has managed to fool so many people all this time.
