The sixth season of the series "Peaky Blinders"

Almost a year since the BBC announced that the sixth season of the series "Peaky Blinders" will be the last, finally this television network has released the first announcement of the trailer.

Peaky Blinders is a British period crime drama television series created by Steven Knight. Set in Birmingham, England, the series follows the exploits of the Peaky Blinders crime gang in the direct aftermath of the First World War. The fictional gang is loosely based on a real urban youth gang of the same name, who was active in the city from the 1890s to the early 20th century.

The fifth series premiered on BBC One on 25 August 2019 and finished on 22 September 2019. Netflix, under the deal with Weinstein Company and Endemol, had acquired the rights to release Peaky Blinders in the United States and around the world. In January 2021, it was announced that the sixth season would be the last.

Cillian Murphy, who plays the lead role, was accompanied on the set by Tom Hardy, Paul Anderson, Finn Cole, Anya Taylor Joy, Stephen Graham, and others.

Helen McCrockie, who plays the character of Polly, passed away in April 2021, so it is still unknown whether her character will be taken over by someone else in the sixth season or maybe will be removed from the new episodes.

The series, directed by Oscar-winner Stephen Knight, tells the story of Tommy Shelby and his family as they rise from the Birmingham working class in the period after the First World War.

However, the sixth season brought the characters before the Second World War, and the new episodes will bring a lot of drama, intrigue, and shooting, which the fans of the "Peaky Blinders" series are used to.

"After we were forced to postpone filming due to the covid pandemic, we will find the famous family in even greater danger, and the stakes are never higher. We believe that this will be the best season of all and we are sure that fans will be satisfied. The series is over, but the story will continue in another form, " the director announced earlier.

It is still unknown whether the last episode will be broadcast on the BBC or will be available on the streaming platform Netflix, and the premiere of the first episode is expected in the spring or summer of this year.

Recall, the “Peaky Blinders” star continues to collaborate with the great Hollywood director after previously working together on the films “Batman Begins“, “Inception” and “Dunkirk“.

Cillian Murphy will play Oppenheimer, an American physicist whose role in running the lab in Los Alamos and participating in the Manhattan Project led him to be dubbed the “father of the atomic bomb”.

The film follows “the pulse-pounding paradox of the enigmatic man who must risk destroying the world in order to save it,” per an announcement.

Nolan will reportedly make the movie in cooperation with Universal studio. The studio also set a US theatrical release date of July 21, 2023. The summer month has long been a Nolan release tradition.
