New High End Cables from Audioquest

The "Mythical Creatures" collection now includes three new exclusive analog signal cables: three RCA and three XLR cables.

The six new Audioquest connection cables come in three separate types, each with either RCA or XLR jacks: "ThunderBird," "Firebird," and "Dragon." According to the manufacturer, the exclusive new variants are the greatest Audioquest cables to date, signifying another step toward "sonically invisible wires."

The cables are completely balanced to achieve this goal; the double (RCA), respectively triple (XLR) balanced layout is also visible on the exterior of the new cables, which Audioquest claims is due to the fact that the "Zero-Tech" noise dissipation technology could only be implemented appropriately in this way.

The term "Zero-Tech" refers to a cable architecture that is designed to allow no characteristic impedance by suppressing RF noise through linear noise dissipation.

To reduce noise even further, the cables have a "72 V Dielectric-Bias System" — the XLR versions have a double DBS pack – which is also touted to reduce time delays, as well as a carbon and graphene mesh network.

Furthermore, the cables have a unique "FEP air-tube dielectric." The new "Dragon" cable also has drain wires made of "Perfect-Surface Silver" for additional noise dissipation.

The new cables' RCA and XLR connectors are made of a special "Hanging-Silver" that sits on "Red Copper." The connection housings in the "ThunderBird" cables are copper plated, whilst those in the "FireBird" and "Dragon" series are silver plated, which is believed to give even greater RF drain.

While the strands in the "ThunderBird" are made of "Perfect-Surface Copper+," the solid conductors in the other two cables are constructed of "Perfect-Surface Silver," which is meant to minimize distortion, among other things, due to its high purity.

All cables are standardly available in lengths ranging from 0.5m to 6m, while alternative lengths are believed to be conceivable; the prices are listed below:

The "ThunderBird" cables price - $2,900/1m (RCA); $3,900/1m (XLR).

The "Firebird" cables price - $5,500/1m (RCA); $6,900/1m (XLR).

The most expensive "Mythical Creatures" cables, "Dragon," - $9,500/1m (RCA); $11,900/1m (XLR).
