NUVIA PC CPUs will arrive in 2023

During the release of the financial results, Qualcomm provided highly crucial facts, such as the fact that its CPUs built by NUVIA, a firm it purchased last year, will reach the first Windows 11 PCs by the end of 2023.

The firm was pleased with the commercial and enterprise designs of Windows 11 systems based on the latest Snapdragon 8CX Gen 3 processor, according to the company.

It then displayed the NUVIA-designed processor, stating that it "is going for the next level."

"Development is proceeding as planned, and we hope to have it completed by the end of 2023." Obviously, no specifics about this performance were provided.

What is known is that its partners will begin receiving the first units to test their equipment during the second half of this year, so we may see the first performance testing before the end of the year.

"We are encouraged by the extensive interest in our planned products, which will make use of our industry-leading NUVIA CPUs. We continue to accelerate the unavoidable transition to ARM-based computing while also redefining the future of mobile productivity."

Unfortunately, if you want to know more details, we have to go back to the company's data from last year, where it promised a higher performance per watt consumed compared to AMD and Intel x86 solutions, and it is important to remember that NUVIA processors are based on the ARM architecture.

So the x86 architecture will no longer only have to worry about Apple Silicon processors, and Qualcomm will take a big leap forward in terms of performance.

It is also worth noting that, prior to being acquired by Qualcomm in August 2020, NUVIA discussed the performance of its Phoenix CPU in Geekbench 5, where it easily surpassed SoCs such as the Apple A13 or the Snapdragon 865.
