Oprah Winfrey has revealed why she doesn’t want to be the godmother of Lilibet Diane
She refused the offer!
After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced the birth of their daughter, Lilibet Diane, many began speculating that Oprah Winfrey might be the girl’s godmother, but she decided to deny those rumors.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Oprah explained why she does not want to be the godmother of the little one, and the reason surprised many.
"There's no need for them to take me for a godfather. I'm their neighbor, friend, and all that, but I think they need to take someone younger for the role of godmother," she said.
During the interview, she also revealed that she really likes the name Harry and Meghan chose for their daughter and added that she plans to send the couple a special gift for Father’s Day.
Oprah has been very close with Harry and Meghan ever since she received an invitation to their royal wedding held in 2018, and the couple just in an interview with her, which raised a lot of dust in public, revealed that their daughter is coming.
They also made a number of allegations against the palace, including accusations of racism.
After the interview, Prince Harry spoke to Oprah again on The Me You Can't See. There he spoke of personal struggles after the death of his mother, Princess Diana, in 1997.
“I was willing to drink, I was willing to take drugs, I was willing to do things that made me feel less,” Harry admitted to Oprah.
