PRINCE CHARLES REVEALED WHAT HIS FATHER LAST TOLD HIM: He surprised the public with the details of their conversation
Prince Charles has revealed the details of his last conversation with his late father, Prince Philip.
Prince Philip, husband of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II passed away on April 9 this year, just two months before his 100th birthday.
His eldest son, Prince Charles, 72, revealed in the latest BBC documentary what the last conversation he had with his father looked like. He called him the day before his death while he was in the hospital because he wanted to talk to him about plans to celebrate his 100th birthday.
But instead of a concrete answer, Philip scolded him in his familiar way because he always liked to joke. 'We're talking about your birthday, where are we going to celebrate it?', Charles asked him cautiously as he did not like celebrations.
' Celebration? Well, I would have to be alive for that, right? 'Philip told him. 'I knew you'd say that!', Charles tossed to him, unable to guess that these were the last words he would exchange with his beloved father.
Philip was known for his cheerful spirit and unusual sense of humor and did not want his family to worry about illness.
Members of the royal family shared their memories of him in a series, prepared by the BBC, and dedicated to the extraordinary life and humanitarian work of Queen Elizabeth’s husband. The documentary will be released on September 22nd.
By the way, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip have been married for 74 years.
