'Rust' head armorer said she wasn’t sure she was “ready” for the position just a month before the fatal incident
Hannah Gutierrez-Reed thought loading blank rounds into firearms was “the scariest thing.”
The world was shocked by the news that actor Alec Baldwin shot from a prop killing camerawoman Halyna Hutchins (42) and wounding director Joel Souz (48) while filming the new western 'Rust' .
Hannah Gutierrez Reed, a 24-year-old in charge of the weapons and props that killed the camerawoman and wounded the director, last month in the ‘Voices of the West’ podcast expressed her doubts about the use of the guns.
"I was very nervous, I almost didn't accept the job because I wasn't sure if I was ready," she said earlier.

She recently worked as an armorer in the movie ‘The Old Way’ starring Nicholas Cage. The job also marked her first work on the film as a gun handler. During the interview, Hannah said she wasn’t ready to take on the role at first, but it all went in her favor during filming.
Loading the prop firearms was the ‘scariest’ part of the process, Reed said, adding that her father taught her how to do it. Her father, Thell Reed, is a legendary film armorer in Hollywood circles who taught her his job from an early age.

However, on the set of the movie 'Rust', things went wrong. Police are investigating Hannah Gutierrez Reed and assistant director Dave Halls, who handed the Colt to Baldwin.
Recall, Anthony Pawluc, secretary of the International Association of Theater Workers 'Local 44', wrote that the prop - a gun used by Baldwin and which accidentally killed the camerawoman and wounded the director, had a live bullet in it.
