Shinichi Sonny Chiba has died at the age of 83 from complications caused by a covid-19 infection at a hospital in Kimitsu, writes the Daily Mail.
Japanese martial arts legend Shinichi Sonny Chiba contracted COVID-19 in late July and was treated without hospitalization, Japanese media reported. However, his pneumonia worsened and he ended up in hospital on August 8 and died today, writes the Daily Mail.
Chiba became famous for his role in the 1974 classic ‘The Street Fighter’, and the general public remembers him as Hattori Hanzo from Tarantino’s cult film ‘Kill Bill’.
Quentin Tarantino was a big fan of his and always referred to his work in the films 'Pulp Fiction' and 'True Romance'.
