Hollywood actress Lisa Banes is fighting for her life after she was struck by a scooter in a hit-and-run on the Upper West Side.
Banes, 65, who lives in Los Angeles and has played over twenty roles in TV shows and movies, including "A Cure for Wellness" and "Gone Girl," was on the way to visit the Julliard School, her alma mater, manager David Williams said in an email to The Associated Press.
However, she got severely injured, when an unknown driver hit her.
Banes was at the pedestrian crossing when she got hit.
She is currently in critical condition in the intensive care unit, with a traumatic brain injury, her family said.
"Lisa is in critical condition and we will know more in the next few days, " said her wife Kathryn Kranhold.
The horrific accident was a cruel turnaround for Lisa, who was thrilled to finally be back in the Big Apple, eager to finally see her old friends, whom she greatly missed.
