The Witcher 4 is now in pre-production
During GDC in March, CD Projekt Red unveiled a new Witcher game. In a significant shift, the studio also revealed that all future development would be done in Unreal Engine 5. The Witcher 4 has officially entered pre-production now that UE5 is available to everyone and several new roles have been filled.
Pre-production is the first stage of development and should be used to lay the groundwork for the game. It can be a time-consuming process that includes a lot of trial and error.
With that in mind, the game will be years away from release, and CD Projekt Red is unlikely to reveal anything more about it for quite some time.
The Witcher 4 (working title) will be the first CD Projekt Red game to forego the RED Engine, the studio's in-house tools that powered The Witcher 2, The Witcher 3, and Cyberpunk 2077.
The studio had numerous obstacles during the development of Cyberpunk 2077, and the studio hopes that by transitioning to the more industry-standardized Unreal Engine, many of those production issues may be avoided.
In addition to the next Witcher game, CD Projekt Red is working on a Cyberpunk 2077 expansion, which will be released next year.
Street Fighter 6 is heading to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC
Street Fighter 6 is scheduled to be released in 2023 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game is not coming to Microsoft's last-generation Xbox One system, but Street Fighter 6 marks the franchise's return to the Xbox, as Street Fighter 5 was a PS4 console exclusive.
Street Fighter 6 is based on the RE Engine, which has been powering Capcom's biggest titles for a number of years. Fighting Ground, World Tour, and Battle Hub are the three-game types included in the game. There will also be a single-player adventure option as well as a training mode for practicing combos.
Only a few characters have been disclosed for the final roster thus far, but a fresh leak claims that Street Fighter 6 will start with 22 characters, however, some of these may be planned DLC for post-launch.
