Tom Cruise's demanding military training!

His return to the role of Maverick enabled him to raise all those stunts from the original 1986 film to an even higher level. But in addition to the 59-year-old Cruise who was getting ready to fly, there are also his colleagues who had to learn everything about fighter jets. Just a few weeks after the premiere of the film, a video was released which showed the demanding training for military pilots, which the actor and the team of "Top Gun" went through.

In the behind-the-scenes film "Top Gun: Maverick", Tom Cruise explains how he and his associates prepared for the roles by opposing gravity. He said they worked with the navy, and they had to learn how to shoot properly. They also try flying in a military plane!

Three months of flight training may sound unbelievable, but it was necessary to record real scenes of air battles. The creation and implementation of the training plan were left to Tom Cruise. Tom actually planned the whole pilot training for the rest of the crew.

The video shows Miles Teller, Glen Powell, Monica Barbaro, Greg Tarzan Davis, Jay Ellis, and other stars flying in fighter jets. Cruise said that they also designed a "challenging" underwater program, which simulates the situation of getting off a plane when landing on water. Cruz added: "I am very proud of what we have all achieved. Each of them is outstanding."

The film follows the hero from the first part of "Maverick", Pete Mitchell, as a flight instructor, who has served in the Navy for more than 30 years. "Rooster" Bradley Bradshaw, the son of Maverick's friend "Goose", who died in an accident while flying with Maverick, also appears in a sudden dangerous mission. Faced with the ghosts of the past, Maverick embarks on a struggle with his greatest fear...

The long-delayed "Top Gun: Maverick" (whose filming began in 2018) finally arrives in cinemas on May 26, and it was directed by Joseph Kosinski.
