TSMC is investing $12 billion in a new factory

Morris Chang, the founder of the renowned chip maker TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co), stated that the new era of TSMC begins with a 12 billion US dollar investment in the construction of a new 3nm chip facility in Arizona.

According to TSMC's founder, Apple is now interested in collaborating. They do, however, expect that the "list" of companies will grow considerably larger and more diverse over time.

Not only is everything rumor, but the building process has already begun. The ceremony of "tool introduction" is anticipated to take place on December 6, today.

This implies that the official opening and commencement of operations should not be too far off from the indicated date; perhaps by the end of the year, the new TSMC factory will begin producing 3nm chips.

The new chips based on the 3nm manufacturing process will use the new N3 manufacturing principle. Apple is not just interested in collaborating, but it has also revealed which hardware it intends to use the new (upcoming) TSMC 3nm CPUs for.

Of course, there are Apple iPhone models on the first row, but there are also MacBook computers and iPad tablets from Apple. However, this manufacturer's major factories are in its mother nation, Taiwan.

Despite the fact that TSMC has long been in the process of expanding to American territory. TSMC manufacturing is currently found in various American locales, including Camas, Washington, and Phoenix.

Arizona will now join those cities. We must emphasize that TSMC's engineers work every day on new design solutions for the future in the cities of Austin, Texas, and San Jose.

In the first quarter of 2022, TSMC "held" as much as 70% of the global chipset market.

Apple's MacBook Pro with an M2 Max chip has appeared on the Geekbench test

Apple is testing the yet-to-be-released M2 Max processor in its future 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros. So far, Apple has produced a new-looking MacBook Air and a very old-looking 13-inch MacBook Pro with an M2 processor, with the M2 Pro and M2 Max laptop processors following next (with an eventual M2 Ultra for Mac Studio).

Two Geekbench tests show a MacBook with an M2 Pro processor and 96GB of RAM. According to the number, Apple will most likely allow users to set more than the present maximum option of 64GB.

The M2 Pro processor has 12 cores and a maximum clock speed of 3.54 GHz, which is two cores and 320 Mhz faster than the M1 Pro in current generation MacBook Pro computers. The L1 and L2 cache figures are identical.

Apple was supposed to release the 14-inch and 16-inch M2-powered MacBook Pros in the fall, but now that winter has arrived, they may be postponed until 2023.
