Violent Night – This is not your typical Christmas

Santa (David Harbour) is getting drunk on Christmas Eve. Today's children do not appreciate the gifts they get because greed frequently takes precedence over the meaningful Christmas season.

The time spent with family and the joy of being together should exceed obtaining any new flashy object that will wear out that year. Grandfather has had enough and is considering retiring.

Gertrude Lightstone (Beverly D'Angelo) is a wealthy tycoon whose children do nothing but look up to her in the hopes of inheriting her vast fortune when she decides to retire. Her daughter Alva (Edi Patterson) and her husband, B-movie action star Morgan Steel (Cam Gigandet), are willing to go to any length to succeed Gertrude.

Meanwhile, Gertrude's son Jason (Alex Hassell) appears to be more concerned with repairing his marriage to Linda (Alexis Louder) than with providing a wonderful Christmas for their daughter Trudy (Leah Brady). Jason, on the other hand, appears to be keeping something from everyone.

A huge $300 million is hidden deep in a vault in Gertrude's mansion's basement, which no one seems to know about except a man who goes by the name Scrooge (John Leguizamo).

He and his Christmas crew devise a scheme to take Gertrude's riches. Enter the life of a drunken Santa to save the day and reawaken his love of the holiday season.

Noel's Diary - If You Prefer The Classic Christmas Story - on Netflix

Charles Shyer directed Noel's Diary, which stars Justin Hartley, Barrett Doss, Bonnie Bedelia, and James Remar. The film follows the story of Jacob, a bestselling novelist of spy thrillers, who learns that his mother has died just before Christmas.

Jacob must now return home and put things back in order. At home, though, he will encounter Rachel, a lady on her own journey. They will share the pleasure of meeting the one who is perfect for them.

Shyer's direction is tight and subtle. The pacing is excellent, and the film will be done before you realize it. This title is the polar antithesis of other Christmas-themed movies available on streaming providers, which seem endlessly long and dull clichés due to a lack of anything to latch onto.
