Visit England beauty - Lake District

If you find yourself in the UK and you have a few days of "extra" time, we recommend that you "jump" to the lake area in the north of the country. You will not regret it! In the north of England, there is a national park with about twenty lakes, the highest mountain in the country, and countless streams, trails, forests and pastures. In the valleys, near the lake, lie beautiful towns and villages where many famous people from the world of literature lived, such as Beatrix Potter, Hugh Walpole or Arthur Ransom. Welcome to the Lake District - the northernmost and most beautiful part of England.

Lake District, a mountainous area in the northwest of England and the largest national park in the country, is a paradise for nature lovers who can walk for hours exploring fairytale trails, as well as enjoy the footage created by the game of thick fog of peaceful lakes.

Five years ago, UNESCO recognized the value of that landscape, whose beauty was evoked by both writers and painters through their works.

Grasmere is a unique village of beautiful squares and alleys with traditional houses from the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as home to great pubs, an amazing bookstore where lovers of mountaineering literature come, and the former home of poet William Wordsworth, whose house still stands on the edge villages, surrounded by slopes and woods. The famous poet spoke of Grasmere as "the most beautiful place man has ever found".

In 1891, just over 40 years after his death, the house was opened to the public for the first time, and over time it began to attract more and more visitors. In recent times, tens of thousands of people cross its threshold every year.

The Lake District cannot be visited without a car, nor is it worth doing it that way. The ride itself is an "experience" - the best way to visit all the hills, cliffs with fascinating views, valleys and lakes. Of course, this does not mean that we recommend a car tour. It is best to drive from one lake or place to another and then walk and walk. Walks are, by the way, the most popular way to visit the Lake District, so don't be surprised if you start meeting smaller or larger groups of young or old people around you, with or without a guide, who are "armed" with maps, backpacks and sticks.
