WHAT EXACTLY IS DIANA'S NEW STATUE: Children the princess hugs are not her grandchildren!

Princess Diana has been physically gone for a long time, but she still works wonders. Only she managed to calm the quarreling sons, who yesterday, at the unveiling of her statue in London, looked as happy as in the good old days.

- Today, when we celebrate her sixtieth birthday, we remember her love, strength, and virtues, the characteristics that made her a herald of good, thanks to which the world became a better place. We want her to be there with us every day. We want this statue to become a symbol of her life and legacy - William and Harry said in a joint statement before they unveiled the monument in Diana's favorite corner, the "Sunken Garden" of Kensington Palace.

The bronze sculpture that the princes ordered four years ago is slightly taller than the life-size princess. The diameter is 1: 1.25. In addition to Diana, we see three children. Although at first many thought they were her grandchildren, an explanation soon arrived as to what the smaller statues represented. It is simple: children are symbols of humanitarian work to which the queen of hearts was dedicated to the last breath, and she was always the weakest to the youngest.

The engraving on the pedestal has a special meaning. Below Diana's name are written verses from the poem "The Measure of Man", read in 1997 at her funeral. In free translation, the last two speak of a woman as a universal person whose value is measured by the size of her heart and the role she played in this world.
