Why was the Make out Scene Deleted? Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga says she is like the "annoying kid in school that's bragging that they made out with the popular girl but has no proof"
About this sexy deleted scene the fans will simply have to take Lady Gaga's word on it.
The House of Gucci actress, 35, recently said that she did push for a sex scene with co-star Salma Hayek. Gaga stated they filmed a kissing scene, but it didn't make it into the final film. Gaga spoke about it while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday.
The scene happens after their characters get a call telling them that their assassination attempt on Reggiani's ex-husband was a success. According to Gaga, who plays Patrizia Reggiani, that's when the two women surprise each other with a kiss.
Gaga reenacted how she told Hayek, 55, about improvising the scene. She said with an Italian accent: "I'll never forget when I told— I was like, 'Okay, listen, so before we do this scene I just want your consent to do something together.' And she's like, 'Okay! What do you want to do?' And I said, 'Okay, I was thinking, after the hit gets put out on Maurizio and you get the phone call that he's dead, then I walk over to you and kiss you.' She's like, 'What?!' "
The whole "awesome" moment in A Star Is Born was removed, the actress explained.
"I made out with Salma Hayek," she said with a smile. As the audience applauded she continued: "I'm like that really annoying kid in school that's like bragging that they made out with the popular girl but has no proof! I'm gonna have to, like, break into Ridley's stuff [to get the footage]."
On the other hand, Salma Hayek had only words of praise for her House of Gucci costar
She can't stop talking about Lady Gaga.
Hayek talked about working with the singer on the upcoming biographical crime drama in Variety's newest cover story.
"We were talking on the phone and she was already Patrizia," Hayek said. She was excited to get to know Gaga before filming took place in Italy. "Her accent was perfect," the actress said.
Patrizia Reggiani, the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci, was the head of the Gucci fashion business at the time. Patrizia hired a hitman to assassinate him in 1995.
"I think we had a lot of fun reliving scenes that are not even in the movie and she is the ultimate professional, and I could not wait to get on that set," Salma said. "We really couldn't wait to get on the set and just do it and do it together and play off of each other."
Hayek, who plays Patrizia's confidante Pina Auriemma, told Variety that Gaga "is very talented and incredibly smart."
"And she has on top of all that, extra abilities that not every brilliant actor has, which is she's good with the accent," the actress said. "Of course, she has an amazing ear. She is extraordinary improvising, and not everybody has that. She really embodies the character."
