A big shift in the trial: Britney can choose her own lawyer

Britney Spears,  39, can now choose her own lawyer to win the battle and end the custody she has been under for the past 13 years, Judge Brenda Penny decided.

Numerous stars joined the #FreeBritney movement and demanded that Britney be allowed to lead her own life, which was also suggested to the judge by the singer, but the request was rejected.

She said recently that her dad took advantage of the control he had over her and persuaded her to go to a mental institution against her will. At a new hearing, the judge allowed her to hire a new lawyer to get herself out of the ‘abusive custody’ she has been under since 2008. Britney has so far been represented by Samuel Ingham III, but the singer wants her lawyer to be Matthew Rosengart

Given that last time, she asked the court that no one is given control over her life, and after it was denied, Britney wondered if her lawyer had done everything in his power to solve the problem.

The singer is the mother of two children she had with ex-husband Kevin Federline and recently said at a hearing that her father controlled every aspect of life, including the use of birth control pills, meditation, who she could marry, and even what color kitchen cabinets she could have.
