Actress Diane Lane has made a name for herself in romantic dramas, and real-life love life is not far from the one she embodied on the big screen.
American actress Diane Lane has been on the scene for many years, and the lady who debuted on the big screen at only 14 years is celebrating her 57th birthday these days. She is one of the few Hollywood women without scandals in her career. Also, she is unique as she managed to resist plastic surgery and keep her natural beauty.
Lane grew up in New York City with her mother Colleen Leigh Farrington who was a singer in nightclubs and a Playboy model. Her father was Burton Eugene Lane, an acting teacher who worked as a taxi driver and college professor. Her parents divorced when she was only 13. She moved to Mexico with her mother because she had custody of her. However, her father later took custody of Diane and she returned to New York. Most of the time they lived in various hotels. Her father still was a taxi driver.
When she was 15, she decided to emancipate and traveled to Los Angeles with actor and friend Christopher Atkins, with whom she starred in the 1981 film 'Child Bride of Short Creek'. On one occasion, the beautiful actress commented that she was quite irresponsible and she didn't realize what could result from her actions.
She soon returned to New York and went to high school. She lived with a friend's family. Shortly afterward, her mother abducted her and took her to Georgia, but she and her father later filed a lawsuit against her mother and Diane managed to return to New York. She didn't talk to her mother for three years because of it all, but they eventually reconciled.
The popular actress became famous for the romantic dramas that she starred in. In two movies she starred with a favorite of women, Richard Gere. Those are"Stormy Love at Rodanthe" and "Unfaithful". She has also received numerous accolades for her work, and romantic films have become her trademark over the years, although she has tried her hand at various genres.
Diane has two marriages behind her. She was married for six years to actor Christopher Lambert with whom she has a daughter, Eleanor. Eleanor followed her parents' footsteps and she is also an actress. Diana’s second husband was colleague Josh Brolin and they were married from 2004 to 2013.
