After the decision to shut down the 'X Factor', Simon Cowell is working on a new show to match 'Top Gear'

English entrepreneur and talent scout Simon Cowell, 61, drives the fans wild with his sharp commentary style and production skills once again after announcing a new project. Having decided to shut down the legendary music show “X Factor”, thus disappointing fans around the world who have enjoyed the show for 17 years, he seems ready for a whole new genre.

Namely, Cowell is preparing a car show with which he wants to compete against the most famous British car magazine "Top Gear". Cowell is reportedly already working on the entire show format and is looking for potential talents to participate in the project. Cowell's fortune is estimated at around £ 385 million and he owns a number of fast engines and expensive cars such as the Rolls-Royce Phantom, Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, Eagle Speedster, £ 1 million Bugatti Veyron and Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud. He believes that creating a program that explores his love for such cars would be an absolute hit especially because this is no new area for him.

"Simon has always been a big fan of cars, and producing a car show has always been in his plans," an informed source told the British media. By the way, he has already filmed episodes of Top Gear in which he appeared as a guest driver, and those episodes have got enormous ratings.

"He loves to talk about cars and has been approached by a number of well-known car experts and famous race drivers who had wanted to work with him on a similar project for years. At the moment, it's all one big step he's been ready for a long time," the source said.

Top Gear has been filmed since 2002 and is one of the BBC’s most successful commercial programs airing worldwide. Until the car magazine starts filming, Cowell is currently filming another interesting project - the “Walk The Line” quiz.

Note that in July, it was announced that Cowell is shutting down the famous music show "X Factor", which spawned British talents such as Leona Lewis and members of the bands One Direction and Little Mix. As the source said at the time, Cowell decided to mark the ending himself now rather than make the show the subject of ridicule for forcing its broadcast. Cowell became known as the main member of the jury in “The X Factor” to which amateur singers applied to get a contract with his record label and pursue a musical career. At the peak of its popularity, "X Factor" was watched by about 10 million viewers, but in recent years those numbers have been much lower, especially the last season that aired in 2018, which is why its creator Simon believes it should be shut down in time.
