Amy Schumer - Emotional Career Decision
The on-stage event left the host quite distressed.
Amy Schumer has made a professional decision just days after seeing Will Smith's assault on Chris Rock at the Oscars.
The Life and Beth star's position as Oscars presenter was overshadowed by the stunning scene, which she described as "triggering and traumatizing." She has now decided to take a break from her work in order to devote more time to her family. Amy took to social media to share a photo of herself resting in bed with her small son, Gene, whom she shares with her husband, Chris Fischer, with toys spread across the blankets.
The personal photograph was simply titled: "For the next month, you will receive an out-of-office response. Thanks." Her fans and celebrity pals reacted quickly to her break, with Ali Wentworth saying, "Well earned," and Amanda Kloots tweeting, "Ahhhh the greatest." Many of her social media fans agreed with her and thought she deserved a vacation. Others used the occasion to express their regret that her, Wanda Sykes, and Regina Hall's hosting of the ceremony had been overshadowed by the incident.
Amy was compelled to keep the event running after Will smacked Chris for making a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, but she subsequently said the moment was really difficult for her. She sent a comment on Instagram that said, in part, "I adore my pal [Chris Rock] and feel he handled it like a pro." He stayed up there and delivered an Oscar to his pal [Questlove], and it was all really distressing.
"Will Smith is in so much pain, and I'm still stunned, astounded, and devastated." "Waiting for this horrible emotion from what we all seen," Amy added. Will Smith (53) apologized to Chris Rock for the smack on Instagram, and his mother Caroline Bright also spoke out about the event.
She is proud that her son won the Oscar for Best Leading Actor for his role in the film ‘King Richard’. ‘I know how hard he works. I waited and waited. And finally I heard his name!” Caroline said in an interview.
