Amy Winehouse biopic film 'Back to Black' is in the works
Sam Taylor-Johnson was her close friend
Under the name "Back to Black", as it reads, one of the most famous songs of Amy Winehouse, another film should be made about the singer who tragically passed away at the age of 27.
As reported by the world magazine "Variety", the new film about Amy Winehouse, which received the support of the singer's father Mitch, will be directed by the director of the film "50 Shades of Grey", Sam Taylor-Johnson, who happened to be her close friend. According to "Variety" information, the film is in the stage of casting and searching for the actress who should play Amy. The film will be based on Daphne Barak's book "Saving Amy", and will be co-produced by Studiocanal, Alison Owen, Debra Hayward, and Tracey Seaward.
The idea of making the film "Back to Black" was started in 2018, but in the meantime, the screenwriter and director of the film were changed.
“What we want is for someone to show Amy as she really was. Funny, brilliant, charming, and terrible as she could be at times. It doesn't make sense for me to make a movie about her because I'm her father. But to get the right people to do it, that's important and we're going to do it now” - said Mitch Winehouse.

By the way, four years after the tragic death of Amy Winehouse, in 2015, the documentary "Amy" was filmed, which won an Oscar. Mitch Winehouse said at the time: "It's a negative, shameful and false image of Amy. We're going to fix it." It looks like Mitch Winehouse's wish will finally come true.
Amy Jade Winehouse (Amy Jade Winehouse) was an English singer-songwriter known for her expressive contralto vocals, authentic appearance, and a mixture of musical genres: rhythm and blues, soul and jazz. Amy was the first British artist to win five Grammy Awards for the album "Back to black", making Amy the first British woman to win so many accolades. The album became a worldwide hit, and the song "Rehab" reached number 9 on the US pop singles chart.
