A legend of acting, charisma, and impressive life energy - Anthony Hopkins charmed the world in a new fashion campaign for the Loewe brand.
Even Mr. Anthony Hopkins, whose career spans seven decades, could not have foreseen his latest career move: to become a Loewe model. The 84-year-old found himself in the Spanish brand’s campaign for early fall, side by side with names like Josh O’Connor, Jessie Buckley, and Kaia Gerber.
Photographed by Juergen Teller, and stylized by Benjamin Bruno, the phenomenal Hopkins poses with new XXL models of Anagram Studs T bags, adorned with the distinctive Loewe logo. Anthony, in the first photo, is wearing a coat, tracksuit, and T-shirt covered with donuts, and in the second a sporty-elegant tracksuit. Oh yes, when we say MOOD, we mean Anthony in this campaign (just look at this casual attitude!).
The comments flooded the post of creative director Jonathan Anderson, and fans referred to quotes from one of his scariest thrillers. "Oh, and Senator, just one more thing ... Love your suit," wrote fashion editor Alexander Fury, alluding to a sentence by Hannibal Lecter from the cult film "The Silence of the Lambs". '' There's only one Anthony Hopkins, '' Anderson said, clearly enjoying this fashion hit.
Loewe’s campaigns and magazines are always good for endless scrolling. Hopkins has joined names like Gillian Anderson, Megan Rapinoe, and Tracee Ellis Ross, while Danish beauty Freja Beha Erichsen is the muse of this fashion house. Zadie Smith attended the fall/winter 2022 show, and Bjork recently wore one of the cult dresses (also modeled by Kim Kardashian and Jeanne Cadieu this spring).
Hopkins has enjoyed modeling roles for Loro Piana and Brioni brands throughout his life, and believe it or not, he is not the only senior model in this campaign. Namely, there is also the artist Lynda Benglis in pants and sneakers with parrot motifs, and a colorful woolen sweater. Loewe's idea is to show the multigenerational potential of the brand, which is focused on artistic and mostly surrealist fashion expression. Age is not an obstacle to anything!
