Billy Idol postpones tour due to health issues

Rock musician William Michael Albert, better known to the public as Billy Idol, began his musical career in high school and played in a band called "The Rockettes", where he was a guitarist.

After 4 years, Billy and another member of the band decided to leave the group and form their own band "Generation X", where Billy was the lead singer. The group quickly became popular, and before they split up, they released three albums. After the breakup of the group, Billy moved to New York, where he quickly became a big star in the rock scene. In addition to releasing successful singles, he has appeared in several films.

Billy Idol changed the dates of his upcoming tour, postponing everything from June and July to September and October 2022. The tour, which was announced last year, was supposed to include new music, a bunch of timeless classics, and his longtime lead guitarist and collaborator Steve Stevens. It would also mark the first Idol concert in the UK since 2018. As a result of "health challenges", the rocker moved the dates to later in the year, writing on Facebook:

"As many of you know, this year has brought me some health challenges that are almost but not completely resolved. While my recovery is almost complete, I was ordered by a doctor not to travel until August - and so with great frustration to move the tour dates in the UK and Europe to June and July to September and October this year".

Concerts in Manchester, Cardiff, London, Glasgow, Birmingham, and Leeds will now take place in October, and European dates begin on September 23. “Go-Go” was originally announced as the main support on all six dates in the UK, but will now be replaced by “Television”.

"Unfortunately, “Go-Go” can no longer join us in the UK. I wish them all the best and hope to be able to play together in the future. I am thrilled that now all British concerts will be opened by “Television”, one of my favorite bands with original New York punk scenes and inspiration for me throughout my career. I will be honored to share the stage with them and hope everyone comes earlier to enjoy their set."
