Sino-Canadian pop star Kris Wu, 30, was arrested by Beijing police on suspicion of raping girls after, according to a police report, he "repeatedly insisted on having sex with young girls."

The allegations first surfaced last month on Weib, a Chinese social network, when a woman who posted under the name “Du Meizhu” claimed that Chris had sexually assaulted her as a 17-year-old schoolgirl. The avalanche just rolled.

Wu, who was born in southern China but is a Canadian citizen, denied the allegations, calling them "malicious rumors".

His once hugely popular social media accounts, including his Weib page with more than 51 million followers, were removed after a police statement.

Wu became famous as a member of the popular Korean-Chinese pop group EXO and then as a solo singer. He has starred in multiple films and worked as a model for brands like Burberry.

Madame Tussauds Shanghai wax museum also confirmed that Kris's was figure was already removed from the museum due to his arrest.

But many of his biggest partners in the brand quickly drifted away after rape allegations spread.
