David Beckham, best man at his dad's wedding
David Beckham's father got married for the second time last Saturday in London, and his best man was the famous son.
Former football player David Beckham's father, 73-year-old Ted, stood in front of the altar again last Saturday, and the first family photos of the newlyweds have surfaced. David, 46, posed with a smile for a family photo with his father, his new wife Hilary, 62, and her daughter Charlotte. The happy family posed in front of the Christmas tree, and photos were posted by the Daily Mail.
"Ted and Hilary were happy to confirm that they were married at a private ceremony in London last Saturday surrounded by their immediate family. Ted was accompanied by all his children and uncles, and Hilary was accompanied by her mother and daughter Charlotte. Ted's best man was his son David. and Hilary had Charlotte, Francesca, and Harper as bridesmaids. The couple went on a honeymoon outside the state, "the family said in an official statement.
This is David's father's second marriage, and he divorced David's mother Sandra in 2002 after 33 years of marriage. At the wedding on Saturday was the entire famous Beckham family except for the eldest son of Victoria and David, Brooklyn (22) who was in the US.
Sources close to the family point out that Ted and Hilary did not want to have a big wedding because of the whole pandemic situation, but they are overjoyed that after a few years of relationship, they finally said a fateful "yes". The engagement was announced in March last year, and the happy couple has been in a relationship since 2019.
A few years ago, David’s father pointed out in his autobiography that his son’s world fame had decided his marriage to his first wife. "All the stress and all the attention we were getting was not easy. It was not a world we were used to and it was hard for us to deal with everything. I don't think we were ready for it and we failed to sustain our marriage," he wrote in the book.
Ted and Sandra Beckham have two more children besides David, daughters Lynne (49) and Joanne (39). Their marriage fell apart at a time when David was having problems at the Manchester United club.
