Leek stew is rich in vitamin C and minerals that are the perfect combination for a delicious and healthy lunch or dinner. Preparation of leek stew is not particularly demanding. Although some people like to blanch it beforehand in order to soften its intense taste, this is not really necessary, and for fans of the aroma and taste of leeks, pre-blanching is something that is strictly forbidden. It is a real homemade extremely tasty dish from one pot. Serve the leek stew immediately as a hot lunch or dinner, and you can take it to work as a snack and enjoy it cold or reheated.
Ingredients:
- 5 - 6 leeks
- 400 g of potatoes
- 1 onion
- 1 carrot
- 100 g of bacon
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoon ground pepper
- 1 tablespoon flour
- Pepper
- Salt
- Oil
Preparation:
- Clean the leeks and cut them into rings and wash them under running water.
- Finely chop the bacon, onion and garlic, and cut the carrots into thinner rings.
- Fry the bacon in hot oil for just a few minutes, then add the other ingredients, including the diced potatoes.
- Add water and simmer for ten minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Put salt, pepper and peeled leeks in the pot, more water and leave everything to cook.
- Serve warm and enjoy.
