Did you watch "Black Adam"?
Fans can expect Serra's "Black Adam" to be much more violent than the Disney version
DC and Warner Bros finally released their superhero movie "Black Adam". The main role is Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam, but there are also Pierce Brosnan (Mamma Mia!) as Doctor Fate and Aldis Hodge (One Night in Miami) as Hawkman. But in the trailer, we got some shots of the younger members of the Justice Society (a cult team similar to the Justice League), namely Quintessa Swindell (Voyagers) as Cyclone and Noah Centine (To All the Boys I've Loved Before) as Atom Smasher.
As expected, Pierce Brosnan is brilliant in every frame he appears in and brings the necessary dose of experience and seriousness, with absolutely unobtrusive humor that always hits the mark. And for those whining about how it's DC's copy of Marvel's Doctor Strange, it's not, because Faith was created first, it's just that the Marvel movie machinery used the wizarding part of superhero teams first.
Aldis Hodge is also good as Hawkman, or the Falcon, here presented as the leader of the team and the one who will most often "tackle" Adam. He strikes the right balance between the younger and older members of the team and doesn't fall into the trap of overacting, so we hope to see him interact with many more DC characters.
The rest of the main cast includes Sarah Shahi as Adrianna, Marwan Kenzari as Ishmael, Bodhi Sabongui as Amon, James Cusati-Moyer, Mo Amer, and Uli Latukefu. The director of the film is Jaume Collet-Serra (The Shallows), and the script is written by Adam Sztykiel (Rampage), Rory Haines (The Mauritanian) and Sohrab Noshirvani (The Mauritanian). Executive producers are Johnson, Walter Hamada, Eric McLeod and Scott Sheldon.
Fans can expect Serra's Black Adam to be much more violent than the Disney version. The director has already referred to Black Adam as Dirty Harry among superheroes. Nearly 5,000 years after being given the powers of the Egyptian gods and imprisoned almost immediately thereafter, Black Adam is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice in the modern world.
