Disney will ruin Christmas this year: Fans disappointed with the "Home Alone" reboot

Back in August of this year, the leader of Disney, Bob Iger, announced that a new sequel to the film "Home Alone" would be shot, and a trailer for the film was released, which everyone was eagerly awaiting. At the same time, many were only interested in the information whether Macaulay Culkin would appear in the new sequel to the film, and soon after, the famous actor denied all speculations on Twitter.

"Hey, y'all. Just a heads up since I've been getting this question a lot today: I am NOT in the new Home Alone reboot. I wish all involved the best of luck though," Culkin wrote.

The "Home Alone" franchise was created on the idea of John Hughes and it follows children who accidentally stay alone at home during the holidays and defend their home from burglars. Although it originally belonged to 20th Century Fox, all rights now belong to Disney, which has high hopes for a new sequel of popular movies.

The most famous of all the films is definitely the first sequel released in 1990, in which eight-year-old Kevin McCallister stays home alone after his parents forget about him and travel to Paris with his whole family. The film became the most-watched film in 1990, and is still one of the favorite Christmas movies today. The film won two Oscars and earned a staggering 475 million dollars in just one year, while Macaulay Culkin rose to fame. Culkin was also the star of the second sequel, shot two years later, but since he does not play the main role, the series of films has almost completely failed.

Macaulay has since acted in several films and later filled the media because of the scandal, but also his addictions, which he barely got rid of. The stumbled star often worried fans with his behavior. Today he says that he got out of the jaws of addiction and that he is trying to live a normal life.

Alex D. Linz starred in the third sequel to the 1997 film, and the fourth part was released in 2002. "Home Alone: The Holiday Heist" is a film from 2012, and now everyone is eagerly waiting to see what the idea is for the latest film from the popular franchise.

"Home Sweet Home Alone" began filming last year, and it was confirmed earlier that filming is taking place in Montreal, Canada. Ally Maki, Kenan Thompson, Chris Parnell, Aisling Beaand, Pete Holmes are just some of the actors who have joined the cast. However, although it was originally announced that Macaulay Culkin, along with several other colleagues from the first film, would reappear in his favorite role, the actor has now denied it. The film will see the light of day on November 21 this year, just before Christmas.

"It's sad how much they destroyed the original", "Why don't they just make a new film", "No new film can replace 1990 classic", "This should cost some people work", are just some of the angry comments from fans of the 1990 film, who disagree that it’s a good idea to shoot a new sequel to the classic. According to many, Disney will ruin Christmas this year, and we will find out exactly what the movie looks like in a month.
