Ed Sheeran and BTS dominated the MTV awards

K-pop sensation, boy band BTS and British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran 'conquered' MTV's awards ceremony, which was held in Budapest on Sunday. The Koreans did not attend the award ceremony but won the most awards. In their absence, the Italians drew the most attention with Maneskin's standard outfits, but also with the showdown with the critics. They won the award for the best rock band, so they played on stage. 

- You thought we would not succeed, you always told us that when you heard our songs. Well, you seem to have been wrong - concluded frontman Damiano David in his victory speech. 

Saweetie won the award for the best new performer, Nicki Minaj is the best rapper for MTV, and Colombian musician  Maluma thanked for the award for best Latino performer in an unexpected way. 

- Colombia is no longer Pablo Escobar, Colombia is Maluma - the enthusiastic singer concluded.

Yungblud won the award for best alternative musician,  Doja Cat and  SZA  award for best collaboration with the single 'Kiss Me More', David Guetta won the award for best performer in the category of electronic music, and the award could not pass without a few titles for young stars,  Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo .

In the end, the biggest loser of the MTV award in 2021 proved to be Justin Bieber, who did not turn any of his eight nominations into a victory. 

In addition to Maneskin, Maluma, Saweetie, OneRepublic, Imagine Dragons, Griff, Girl in Red and Yungblud performed live on stage, closing the program with pyrotechnics and demolishing the stage.
