Ed Sheeran speaks about the struggle with conception: Daughter was 'our blessing'
Ed Sheeran spoke about his and his wife’s struggle with conception, calling his daughter Lyra a ‘miracle from Antarctica’.
Just before they wanted to undergo artificial insemination, little Lyra, the daughter of singer Ed Sheeran and his wife Cherry, was conceived quite naturally.
"We had tried for a while to have a kid, and we'd started going to doctors and figuring out what was up," the artist said in The Breakfast Club radio show.
After numerous tests and conversations with doctors, the couple scheduled a procedure after returning from Antarctica, not even imagining that this adventure would change their lives.

After visiting the snowy continent, the happiness was endless when they discovered that Cherry was pregnant.
“'I did think it was a miracle, so that's why I was like, we should have this in the name,” said Ed, who gave his daughter the middle name Antarctica.

"A lot of it is mental. It's about relaxing. So many of my friends have been trying different things like IVF or making sure you're having sex at the right time on the right day, and then they go to a wedding and get p*ssed and relax and they get pregnant," Sheeran said.
In 2019, Ed married Cherry, his childhood friend.
