Eight interesting facts about the movie "Home Alone"

1. Screenwriter John Hughes wrote the entire screenplay in just nine days. The idea came spontaneously, after a family trip to Europe in August 1989. Two weeks later, after they returned home, he asked the question: What would have happened if one of the children had accidentally stayed at home?

2. Although the role of Kevin was written especially for Macaulay Culkin, director Chris Columbus still organized an audition where more than 200 teenagers appeared, but in the end, as it was intended, the role went to Macaulay.

3. In addition to him, his younger brother Kieran Culkin also starred in the film, who got the role of Kevin's cousin Fuller.

4. Among the interesting facts is certainly the fact that 'Home Alone ' is classified in the Guinness Book of Records.

Namely, right in the first weekend of showing, the film earned an incredible 17 million dollars. It was in the first place for a full 12 weeks, and after that, it took the position of the top 10 most screened films until the following year.

Because of this, it was declared the most popular film in 1990 and entered the Guinness Book of Records for the most profitable comedy in the world.

5. The house, located at 671 Lincoln Avenue in the city of Winnetka, Illinois, has become a real attraction for tourists.

The owners of the real estate used the popularity of the film, but also the house, so in 2012 they sold it for an incredible 1.585 million dollars.

Interestingly, the plot of the first sequel takes place in Paris, while Kevin stays alone in a huge house in Illinois, and most of the plot of the film was shot in Chicago.

6. The role of Harry was intended for Robert De Niro, and then for Jon Lovitz, however, the role still belonged to Joe Pesci

7. For the scene in which Marv Murchins plays, where he enters through the window of the house and stands on glass pine balls, actor Daniel Stern insisted on standing on them barefoot.

8. In one of the scenes, a huge tarantula appears on Daniel Stern's face, which is real and alive. The scene was filmed from the first attempt, but Stern didn't actually scream, that is, he didn't let go of his voice, because he didn't want to scare the spiders.
