"Everything Everywhere All at Once " received as many as 11 nominations for this year's Oscars!

It's not really a surprise, because it's an excellent film, but "Everything Everywhere All at Once" imposed itself with its quality and secured the most nominations for independent production for this year's Oscars, but also the most nominations in general for this year's Oscars. What is perhaps even more interesting is that it is a genre film and one that achieved more than decent success at the box office. So far, he has earned a little more than 100 million dollars.

In short, the film was well-liked by both, critics and viewers, and it became a hit even before these magnificent 11 Oscar nominations. But that's not the end of the interesting things either, because again, although it's not a surprise, because it was completely expected and deserved, one of those 11 nominations is for the best leading actress, played by the fantastic Michelle Yeoh. And it is the first time that an actress who clearly identifies as Asian has received a nomination in the category for best leading actress.

Until now, no woman who identifies as Asian has been recognized by the Academy for the Best Actress nomination. Although there are those nominations that fall into the gray zone in this matter, more precisely, some believe that Merle Oberon (The Dark Angel) is the first Asian woman nominated for the best leading actress, but she hid her origin (her mother is allegedly partially of Sri Lankan origin ) and considered herself Caucasian.  And although former nominee Salma Hayek and winners Cher and Natalie Portman have some West Asian heritage (Lebanon, Armenia and Israel/Russia), neither identified as Asian.

It's also wonderful that horror icon, Jamie Lee Curtis, received a nomination for "Everything Everywhere All at Once", in the Best Supporting Actress category. And then we come back to another interesting fact, Stephanie Hsu was also nominated in the same category for her role in the movie "Everything Everywhere All at Once". While in the best supporting actor category, Ke Huy Quan was nominated. You probably remember her as the kid from the cult movies "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" and "The Goonies". And of course, to avoid confusion, these famous 11 nominations also include the one for the best film, and screenplay, as well as the one for the best director, for which Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert are responsible.
