A complex love story: "Third Person"

Oscar winner Paul Haggis filmed a complex love story in co-production between Hollywood and several partner production companies on the other side of the Atlantic. The plot follows three intertwining stories that unfold in the distant locations of Rome, Paris and New York.

The famous writer Michael ( Liam Neeson ), who was once awarded the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for his work, is now plagued by emotional problems and he is looking for a way to overcome a mental block. Going to a luxurious Parisian hotel is a convenient excuse to meet up with a lover so that they can spend pleasant moments together. Sexy journalist Anna ( Olivia Wilde ) is an ambitious girl and she is looking for a lot more from an old writer. She sees in him a mentor from whom she seeks support to become a writer herself one day. Torn between his failed marriage to Elaine ( Kim Basinger ) and a stormy emotional relationship with a much younger woman, Michael desperately tries to finish his latest novel.

The mixture of reality and fiction is subtly packed into a coherent narrative based on three different, yet somehow connected stories about love, about the search for lost happiness.

Liam Neeson and Olivia Wilde are not bad at all as a couple because in their scenes together you can feel the passion, you can see the lust in their eyes. In addition to all that, they also have a couple of wittily created dialogues enriched with cute humorous sequences. No less interesting are Adrien Brody and Moran Atias, where the clash of two different temperaments takes us in an unexpected direction.

The third couple received less attention, although James Franco ( James Franco ) and, especially, Mila Kunis ( Mila Kunis ) provided quite likable performances, reminding us of the bitter truth of how a strong love relationship can sometimes degenerate into a huge hatred that brings mental pain and suffering, where mostly the innocent suffer (mostly children). In general, in this movie emotions are spread in all directions.
