Exclusive Speakers aspen FR 30 by PS Audio
PS Audio, an American manufacturer, has released the new high-end speakers "aspen FR 30" after a five-year research phase.
PS Audio's floor standing speakers are the outcome of a cooperation between PS Audio and Arnie Nudell, developer at Infinity and Genesis founder. Chris Bunhaver took on the final development and finishing of the aspen FR 30 after Nudell's death.
The result is an exclusive loudspeaker that is technically divided into two pieces and so comprises a bass area as well as a separate section above it for highs and mids; according to the manufacturer, all of the drivers contained in the loudspeakers are designed by PS Audio themselves.
The bass portion includes four identical woofers with diameters of 8 inch / 20cm apiece, which are supported on the sides by four 10 inch / 25cm passive membranes.
The remaining frequencies are replicated by ribbons, while a 10 inch / 25cm planar magnet with Teonex membrane is situated in the upper half of the cabinet to recreate the mids and treble.
In addition, a super-tweeter module with two 2.5 inch / 6.4cm planar magnets and a Teonex cone is positioned in the upper part. Adjustment options for positioning and level can also be found on the back.
The PS Audio aspen FR 30 is immediately available in white or black finishes, with an MSRP of around $ 28,499.
