Samsung introduced 512GB of DDR5 RAM
Whether your computer has ever crashed or if there is insufficient power or functioning memory.
And you don't want to spend money on additional RAM since it's too pricey, and you're not used to diving into "those waters."
Samsung appears to have found a solution and has now announced it.
It is 512GB of RAM with a capacity that sounds almost unbelievable. It's not just any old RAM; it's DDR5 with a clock speed of 7200MHz.
These are not all new and pleasant features, but they do provide a significant amount of RAM in a single stick and RAM board.
This method of introducing a huge RAM capacity might be attributed to a completely new data packaging structure or RAM capacity (GB) in layers.
In the case of DDR4 RAM, the layers were arranged in a 4-layer memory capacity packaging, but DDR5 introduces a whole new 8-layer RAM layer packaging.
The speed with which data may be written on 512GB of DDR5 RAM is extremely crucial to users. It now has a maximum speed of 6400Mbps, although this has no effect on energy efficiency.
On the energy consumption necessary for the operation and just heating, Samsung's DDR5 512GB is approximately 30% more efficient when compared to the still existing and widely used DDR4 RAM.
Samsung's "Silicon" technology has allowed the South Korean conglomerate to produce DDR5 RAM 40 percent smaller, reducing the distance between layers (matrices).
It is now 1.00mm in comparison to DDR4 variants, which have a 1.2mm gap between the layers.
As previously said, Samsung has just revealed the new 512GB DDR5 RAM, and it is unknown when it will hit shop shelves, or what the first hardware implementation of the abovementioned DDR5 RAM will be.
Especially since Samsung said that 512GB of DDR5 RAM will be primarily aimed at data centers and smartphone and tablet manufacturers.
The latter could imply that smartphones with such a large working memory capacity will be available in the near future. We don't even want to know, let alone ask, about the pricing, and while we wouldn't be astonished if the first Samsung smartphones with such a big RAM capacity emerged on the market, we surely don't want to know their price because it will be out of reach.
