Sharon Tate was a beautiful 23-year-old American actress who won the heart of ten-year-older famous director Roman Polanski and who couldn’t resist falling in love with her, but their story ended in the most tragic way possible.

As a young girl, Sharon tried to pursue an acting career in Hollywood, and she finally succeeded in 1962 when she signed a contract with talented producer and agent Martin Ransohoff who was producing the series “The Beverly Hillbillies” at the time. She got the role of secretary and spinster Jane Hathaway in it, but she failed to show her acting talent, just like her trademark - long blonde hair that she had to hide under a dark short wig.

But she made enough money to take dance, etiquette, and fitness classes, so three years later she was cast in a major role in "Eye of the Devil," which was shot in Italy and the UK, and starred film legends, David Niven and Deborah Kerr.

At the time, she was in a love affair with celebrated hairdresser Jay Sebring, but her next role marked a turning point in her professional and private life.

Filming took her to Europe again, to the set of the film "The Fearless Vampire Killers", on which Roman also worked. The love between them wasn’t born at first glance, and he wasn’t even impressed with her acting abilities. However, over time he fell for her beauty and began to follow her, even though he was dating actress Jill St. John at the time.

Sharon finally agreed to spend one afternoon with him in a hotel room, where they made love, and after that everything else became history. She broke off the relationship with Jay, with whom she remained friends, and he even became friends with Roman. But the director could by no means give up his titles of seducer and womanizer even after they were married in 1968, and only a year and a half after that Sharon was brutally murdered.

The horrific murder that shocked Hollywood and the world happened on August 9, 1969. The famous actress and several of her friends in her villa that she shared with her husband, director Roman Polanski, were killed by members of the Charles Manson cult

The killers killed the victims with numerous knife stabs, and Sharon, who was eight months pregnant at the time, suffered as many as 16. After that, the killers wrote the word "pig" on the front door with her blood. The bodies were found the next morning by a maid.

Roman later described the days with Sharon as the best in his life, although many claimed that their relationship was far from ideal because he was simply obsessed with orgies and a debauched lifestyle, but also that he controlled her quite a bit.

"He told her how to dress, how to put on make-up, what he wanted from her, and what he didn't want. He was in complete control of her life," the actress' close friend said on one occasion and confirmed that the actress had a hard life and big problems with self-confidence.
