Ed Sheeran is an English singer-songwriter. Born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, he was brought up in Framlingham, Suffolk, and began writing songs around the age of eleven. In early 2011, Sheeran independently released the extended play, No. 5 Collaborations Project. He signed with Asylum Records the same year. Sheeran's earliest memories include listening to the records of Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, and Elton John's Greatest Hits. According to Sheeran, the album that introduced him to music was Van Morrison's Irish Heartbeat. During his childhood, his father took him to live concerts that would inspire his musical creations. These included seeing Eric Clapton at the Royal Albert Hall, Paul McCartney in Birmingham, and Bob Dylan.On 19 October 2015, Sheeran received an honorary degree from the University of Suffolk in Ipswich for his "outstanding contribution to music"
Now, it is all about his song. It’s about his big hit ‘ Shape of You ’ released in 2017. The 30-year-old musician commented on this great success on social media, saying that he remembers the time when the song 'Shape Of You' reached the billion mark on Spotify, and even then he found it strange and a bit unbelievable.
"The 'Shape of You’ wasn’t supposed to be on my album at all, but when Ben Cook from my record label heard it he immediately told me to include it on the album and make it a single. I disagreed with his opinion by saying that I want to make the song ‘Castle on the Hill’ the first single released from the album believing that it will achieve better success with the audience. We agreed to disagree so we launched both songs as singles. Ben was right and we are where we are," said Sheeran.
The second most listened song in the history of Spotify is 'Blinding Lights' by The Week, while the song 'Dance Monkey' by Australian musician Tones and I took the high third place.
This is his second happy news. He and his wife had trouble with conceiving. Just before they wanted to undergo artificial insemination, little Lyra, the daughter of singer Ed Sheeran and his wife Cherry, was conceived quite naturally. After numerous tests and conversations with doctors, the couple scheduled a procedure after returning from Antarctica, not even imagining that this adventure would change their lives.
After visiting the snowy continent, the happiness was endless when they discovered that Cherry was pregnant.
“I did think it was a miracle, so that’s why I was like, we should have this in the name,” said Ed, who gave his daughter the middle name Antarctica. In 2019, Ed married Cherry, his childhood friend.
Also, Ed Sheeran revealed that his 2022 stadium tour will be his last. That is because he plans to spend more time with his wife Cherry and daughter Lyra who has only 16 months.
This is a big acknowledgment for Ed and his work.
