James Corden "Family is in the first place"
After eight years on the air, James Corden will stop hosting his popular evening talk show this year, and his career change will also mean moving with his family.
And while he's still working on the final episodes of The Late Late Show, comedian and host James Corden has spoken about his decision to leave his late-night talk show.
This 44-year-old announced last April that he was leaving the talk show sometime in the middle of 2023. His contract expires in August of this year, and it was speculated that the comedian would resign months before that deadline. James was a guest on Drew Barrymore's daytime show, where the famous actress asked him why he was leaving his CBS show after eight years on the air.

"Look, it's not easy by any means to walk away from something that's so... I mean, I'll never work in a better environment than the one I'm in now. Nothing about walking away from a show means I don't enjoy it. I love it, but to be honest, it became a very easy decision for me because I've always looked at the show as an adventure, not a final destination," Corden began.
The comedian then recalled a situation from two summers ago, when he was filming the series "Mammals" for Amazon Prime Video, which began airing in November. During the filming, he was talking to his son Max, who was ten years old at the time.
"We were filming on Sunday and I went down the stairs, it was around six in the morning, and my son was sitting on the stairs and asked me if I was going to work. I said I was. He then replied: 'But I thought, it is Sunday.' . I started to justify myself with a tight schedule, we have to finish everything because we have a little time before we go back to the show. His face then completely hung," James recalled.
"I sat in the car and called my wife Jules and told her: 'I realized that in the best case, we have six more summers in which Max will want to be with us at least a little and I can't waste anymore,'" he explained.
