Lisa Kudrow's unusual love story

Actress Lisa Kudrow, whom we fell in love with as Phoebe from the Friends series, met the love of her life one day, but she had to wait six years to be together.

Although every time we see her we remember her role in the series Friends, before Phoebe, Lisa Kudrow studied psychobiology and intended to dedicate herself to research work. Inspired by her brother's friend, she decided to try acting. Also, before the world found out about her name, she experienced what was impossible love at the time - she fell in love with her roommate's boyfriend.

Lisa met Michel Stern, the French director of advertising, when he was dating her roommate. Although it was love at first sight, Lisa hid her feelings out of respect for her friend. "When I saw him, I thought - well, he's the perfect guy, but it's all ruined because the two of them are together and there's nothing I can do," she once said. "When he would come to pick her up, he would say - oh, hello, Lisa," and I would just answer - hi and leave the room. He thought I was crazy, "she added.

Life gave them a second chance

But then everything changed. Lisa's roommate and Michel broke up two months later. At the same time, fate wanted the two of them to meet six years later at her friend's birthday party. And they never broke up again. They decided to make their love eternal by saying "yes" on May 27, 1995, and three years later they had a son, Julian Murray.

The secret of a happy marriage

Lisa's dream man seemed quite distant and unattainable at first, and the fateful encounter years later is a bit like a movie plot. But their love story is real. After 26 years their marriage is still strong as they have laid a strong foundation from the beginning.

"When we decided to get married, we didn't promise each other that we would love each other forever because you can't, but we promised that together we would go through all the problems that arise. We are committed to making our marriage work," she said.

In addition, Lisa also admitted that her secret to a great marriage is independence. "We respect each other's independence, and I'm not saying that as a euphemism, I am not saying we have a relationship outside of marriage. For example, I don't like to travel, but if he wants to go golfing - he goes. I think the problems start when couples assume they are one, synchronized in everything. Marriage is like being on a team. You are different, but you have the same goal.

Lisa even discovered a somewhat unusual habit she shares with her husband. "We don't usually be together on our wedding anniversary. We say to each other - okay, does that really matter? I love you, do you still love me? Yes? Perfect. We are good."
