Melinda Gates spoke out about divorce
Melinda Gates has decided to talk about her divorce from Bill Gates. Melinda revealed she was lying on the floor crying over divorce.
Bill and Melinda Gates confirmed their divorce last year after 27 years of marriage. It was rumored that one of the longest-running and seemingly most stable celebrity marriages has been judged because of the billionaire's infidelity. Since they did not sign a prenuptial agreement, the former spouses decided to share assets worth more than $ 130 billion.
During an interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings that will be broadcast today, Melinda shared that she was emotionally devastated after announcing their divorce after 27 years of marriage, telling Gayle that she had cried more than ever.
The host of the show asked the billionaire a question related to a New York Times report in which it was written that her ex-husband tried to initiate an intimate relationship with a company employee ', and asked her if that was true.
Melinda, 57, told the host that she forgave Bill at the time and that they really went through it then, but added that it wasn’t enough to take the relationship to a new level. They had to give up a marriage that lasted 27 years.
"I didn't believe in that relationship, I didn't believe we could go on, " Melinda told.
"Please respect the privacy of us and our families," the 65-year-old wrote on Twitter, adding: "After working a lot on our relationship, we made the decision to end our marriage. In the last 27 years, we have raised three great children and created a foundation that strives around the world to ensure a healthy and prosperous life for people. We continue to believe in our mission and we will continue to work together in the foundation, but we no longer believe in living together. At this stage of life, as a couple, we cannot continue. Please respect the privacy of us and our families. "
In addition to a huge job, they have three children together, 21-year-old Rory John, 18-year-old Phoebe Adele, and 25-year-old Jennifer Katherine. Together they run the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, through which they have donated more than $ 50 billion to charity.
Recall, Bill met Melinda shortly after she joined Microsoft in 1987 as a production manager. The meeting happened when they were sitting next to each other at a business dinner in New York. After about a year of relationship, they came to a crossroads. "You know, we cared a lot about each other and there were only two options: either we would break up or we would get married," Bill said.
