Panasonic launches Toughbook 40 laptop
Panasonic Toughbook 40 is a notebook designed for use in industry, the military, emergency services, and other industries where standard computers would fail soon.
Panasonic has released the Toughbook 40, a "rugged" laptop that meets the highest military requirements MIL-STD-810H and MIL-STD-461H and is dust and water-resistant according to the IP66 standard.
This means, among other things, that it will not break if thrown from a height of 2 meters onto concrete, and durability means resistance to low and high temperatures.
As a result, the laptop is meant for use in industry, the military, emergency services, and other jobs where standard computers would fail soon.
The 3.35kg laptop has a 14-inch 1200-inch Full HD IPS touchscreen as well as a 5-megapixel camera with a protective cover.
The gadget is powered by 11th generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processors with integrated UHD graphics that can be upgraded to Iris Xe or a standalone AMD GPU, and it can carry up to 64GB of RAM and up to 2TB of SSD secured storage.
It has a Secure Vipe system that can delete whole memory in seconds as an added security safeguard.
Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 6 enable connectivity, with the possibility of adding a 4G (LTE / LTE-A) or 5G (mmVave / C-band / Sub6) modem and GPS module.
The Toughbook 40 laptop is priced starting at $4,899.
